Privacy Policy
HM Music Tuition, last updated 6 October 2026
Who I am
I'm Hannah McCall, a music teacher trading as HM Music Tuition. I'm responsible for the personal information collected through this website (www.hannahmccall.co.uk). You can contact me at hannahmccallmusic@gmail.com.
What information I collect
Information you give me: when you use the contact form or email me, I collect your name, email address, phone number (if given) and your message. If you're enquiring about lessons, I may also ask for the student's first name, age, instrument or subject, and level.
Information collected automatically: my website host, Squarespace, collects basic analytics such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you visit.
How I use it
I use your information to reply to enquiries, arrange and deliver lessons, send lesson-related messages, and keep the website working and secure. I don't use it for anything else, and I don't sell it.
Legal basis
Under UK GDPR, I process your information because you've asked me to (taking steps towards or delivering lessons), because it's in my legitimate interests to run and improve my website, or because you've given consent (for example, accepting optional cookies).
Who I share it with
Only the services I need to run the site and my teaching: Squarespace (website hosting, forms and analytics), Google (email), and any booking or payment provider I use. Some of these are based outside the UK and use safeguards approved under UK data protection law. Some pages embed YouTube videos, and YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies when you play them. Lessons will be conducted through Zoom which collects some data upon sign-up. See Zoom’s privacy policy for more details.
Children
My lessons include students under 18. I only collect the information needed to arrange and teach lessons, and I'd expect a parent or guardian to make contact for younger students.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for essential functions, analytics and embedded videos. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How long I keep your information
Enquiries that don't lead to lessons are deleted within 12 months. Information about current and former students is kept for as long as lessons continue, then deleted within 12 months (or longer where I'm legally required to keep records, for example for accounting).
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information I hold about you, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email me at the address above and I'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
Changes
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
